PTCL VSS 2012 - Information Collection Form and Redundant Job Holder Assessment

Friday, August 24, 2012
VSS 2012 has been offered to around sixteen thousand employees. We are receiving a very positive response not only from the eligible employees but also from those who have not been offered this scheme. It is therefore anticipated that a large number of employees will be relieved from PTCL in near future.

We know that PTCL carries lot of redundancies and over staffing issues which cause the wastage of resources in addition to the financial burden. After the relieving of redundant and surplus staff, we have to utilize the remaining staff efficiently to create maximum value from their skills and ensure smooth operations of our business. For this purpose, it is essential to get complete information of the existing assignments and complete redundant and surplus staff so that there should not be any gap after the exit of large number of employees. It has therefore been decided to conduct a comprehensive exercise to collect information about the job role and its business value for all redundant and surplus staff. It has also been decided to prepare a concrete back up plan and identify bare minimum headcount requirements along with required skill set.

For this purpose two forms are enclosed which are to be filled in by all Line Managers and handed over to the concerned HR Business Partner.

1.      Information Collection Form: This form will be used to identify current job roles and competencies of the redundant and surplus staff. It also explains the importance of this with  reference to business value it is adding.

2.  Backup Plan: This form will be used to determine the existing redundant and surplus staff (by designation) and also the required skill set along with bare minimum headcount requirements.

All regional HR Business Partners are hereby directed to co-ordinate with the line Managers to get these forms completed, duly signed off and send to this office latest by 10th September. 2012.
